Background

I'm Alex McCarthy, a freelance researcher focused on building practical tools and systems for cloud security, developer workflows, and AI-powered analysis of documents. This site is my personal space to document ongoing experiments, technical findings, and project results.

This website originally started as an Internship project with Cloudsecure, led by Lucien O'Donoghue, and I have decided to keep working on a number of projects in my spare time.

I am a third year Mathematics undergraduate studying at Durham University. I primarily focus on Statistics and Number theory, with a keen interest in cryptography, stochastic processes/Markov Chains and Mathematical Modelling of complex systems. I also like a number of sports, such as football, Formula 1 and Padel.
